Memory Matters overview

As you scroll down this page we’ll show you how easy it is to use Memory Matters. Opening Memory Matters The front page gives you the option to 'save a memory' and to review your already recorded memories. There is also an option to 'save a growth record' and another to view/chart your existing growth data. Personalising Memory Matters Click on 'who we are' to add your family's individual names and ages. You might wish to include special friends and family pets also. Its easy to add new members and friends at anytime. Our names Click on 'categories' to setup your categories of choice. Enter new information and click save. It's as easy as that! Add new categories to suit your family's changing lifestyle. What would your family’s categories be? A few starter ideas are shown here. Our categories Adding memories Click on 'save a memory' and a text panel will open in which you can record the details. It is recommended that you select the categories and names that relate to the new memory. This will make seaching easier in the future. The edit feature allows you to review an entry at a later time. For instance you might be rushed and note only a few brief details. Later, when time permits, more information and even feature photographs can be added. Recalling memories To revisit a previously recorded memory, click on 'our memories' then use the search option. Here you select by name, categories and you can refine the search further by adding date boundaries. This is a very handy memory jogger when writing or talking to distant family members. How often do you think "I must tell so-and-so about .." next time I write, and then forget to do it? Report After filtering down to the memories you are looking for use the 'report' function if you want to print. This could be an ideal gift to post to friends or family. Alternatively, save it as a web page and email it to loved ones overseas. Growth Measure family height and weight. Record and compare plunket records. Watch the children's growth patterns. Compare the generation graph. Note sibling similarities. Health Record the children's breaks and scrapes. Note immunisations and allergies. Keep medical records safe. Compare family illnesses. It's as simple as adding a memory. Backup To ensure your precious moments are kept safe forever Memory Matters includes instructions on backing up to disc and offsite storage.
